-Directed the work of top photographers such as Albert Watson, David LaChapelle, Helmut Newton, Robert Maxwell, Herb Ritts, Anton Corbijn, Dan Winters, Bettina Rheims, and Juergen Teller, among many others; cultivated new talents and provided them a platform to showcase their work.
-Created award-winning photo layouts working with celebrities such as Steve Jobs, Kate Moss, Tupac Shakur, Kurt Cobain, Madonna, Leonardo Di Caprio, Bono and U2, Barack Obama, Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton, and Ralph Lauren, among many others.
-Managed the photography department, including overseeing all ideation and execution, at Fortune, a flagship Time, Inc. title with a circulation of over 1 million.
-Revived the photo essay format at Fortune, including introducing the Portraits of Power series shot by Albert Watson and featuring Steve Jobs, Al Gore, Warren Buffett, and Bill Gates, among others.
-Tapped by Amster Yard, a subsidiary of McCann Erickson, to create six international print and TV ad campaigns for major spirits brands such as Dewar’s, Bacardi and Martini & Rossi; selected to the creative team despite no prior agency experience based on the strength of my creative concepts; worked with well known commercial directors such as Gerard de Thame, Tarsem and Moshe Brakha.
-Chosen to be part of a small team working under former Condé Nast Editorial Director James Truman to incubate new magazine ideas; ideated over 20 concepts and developed selective prototypes for art and lifestyle publications.
-Led the award-winning photo dept. at Details for nine years, where I conceived, assigned and directed all photography for the influential men’s pop culture and style magazine.
-Photo edited and curated This Is Our War: A Soldier’s Portfolio, a collection of photographs taken by U.S. soldiers fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan; this premiere project featuring first-person photos from the world’s first digital war was published in GQ and in a book by Artisan Press, accompanied by a three-month New York gallery exhibition.
-Received and judged numerous awards, including the Society of Publication Designers, American Photography, CA, Overseas Press Club, PDN, the Ozzies and the Eisie’s.
